TLDR Micro-graft hair transplantation is an effective, simple, and painless method for permanent hair restoration in men and women.
Micro-graft hair transplantation was a significant advancement in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, offering a simple and painless method for permanent hair restoration in both men and women. This technique involved transplanting follicular units or tiny micro-grafts, each consisting of 1 to 3 hairs, which emerged from a single orifice. The permanent nature of the implanted hair growth was attributed to the difference in androgenic receptors between occipital areas and other scalp regions. The severity of androgenetic alopecia could be assessed using Hamilton's static classification, Ludwig's Classification, or more accurately with Bouhanna's Dynamic Multifactorial Classification.
