TLDR Trichoriboside treatment helps maintain scalp hair by increasing cAMP levels in hair follicles of men with hair loss.
In the clinical trial conducted 30 years ago, local therapy with trichoriboside and trichosaccharide was found to be beneficial for scalp hair maintenance in adult males affected by androgenic alopecia. The treatment significantly increased cAMP levels in the hair follicles of men with androgenic alopecia, but not in unaffected control men. Trichoriboside showed greater activity than trichosaccharide, and this activity was accompanied by a significant reduction of ATP in the hair.
