TLDR A new method accurately determines hair blood type and can be used on dust samples.
The document reported an improved method for the serological and morphological investigation of human hair. The technique involved fixing hair onto a microscopic slide with cellophane tape to observe the cuticula and medulla. A section of hair containing the medulla was dissected, embedded in paraffin, and cross-sectioned. Immunohistochemistry, specifically the biotin-antibiotin ABC technique, was used to definitively confirm the blood type of the hair. This method could also be applied to dust samples containing shaved beard hair.
