TLDR Your lifestyle and health can affect your chances of getting COVID-19; not enough sleep, lots of exercise, and hair loss can increase risk, while washing hands, eating fruit daily, and taking vitamins A and C can lower it.
The document is a case-control study from November 2020 that investigated the impact of individual lifestyle and health status on the acquisition of COVID-19. The study involved 315 participants, 105 of whom were COVID-19 positive and 210 were healthy controls. The study found that factors such as lack of sleep, increased physical activities, and alopecia were associated with a higher risk of COVID-19 infection. On the other hand, low-dose alcohol intake, hand hygiene, and daily fruit intake were associated with a decrease in morbidity. The study also suggested that vitamins, particularly vitamin C and A, can act as protective factors against COVID-19 infection. However, the study does not recommend low-dose alcohol intake as a preventive measure due to its health risks. The study concluded that individual lifestyles and health status can affect the occurrence of COVID-19, and larger studies are needed to confirm these conclusions.
