TLDR Neonate rabbits have consistent skin layers and no sweat glands.
The study investigated the skin morphology of neonatal rabbits, finding that the epidermal structure was consistent across ages, consisting of basal, spinous, granular, and corneal layers. Adult rabbit skin featured compound hair follicles with primary and secondary hairs. Most hair follicles were in the terminal stage, with hair shafts extending through the epidermis. The follicles were surrounded by a collagenous fibrous sheath, and the outer and inner root sheath cells showed strong positive PAS and bromophenol reactions. No sweat glands were observed in the examined skin samples.
