TLDR High-dose vitamin D and an anti-inflammatory diet may help improve symptoms in autoimmune conditions like SLE and AA.
This case report describes a 35-year-old female patient with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Alopecia Areata (AA) who experienced significant improvement using the LGS Protocol, which includes a high dose of vitamin D and an anti-inflammatory diet. Initially treated with hydroxychloroquine, methotrexate, and prednisone, the patient saw symptom improvement but later relapsed, developing AA. After intralesional corticosteroid injections provided temporary hair regrowth, the patient experienced a more intense AA relapse. Upon starting the LGS Protocol, she noticed reduced joint pain within three weeks and hair regrowth after four months, achieving complete remission after one year. This case suggests the LGS Protocol may benefit those with autoimmune conditions like SLE and AA.
