TLDR A girl with hereditary chorea, likely Huntington's disease, had her condition worsened by lupus.
This case report described a 19-year-old girl from Balochistan, Pakistan, with hereditary chorea, likely Huntington's disease (HD), which was aggravated by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Despite the lack of genetic testing due to financial constraints, the clinical presentation strongly suggested HD. The patient met the American College of Rheumatology criteria for SLE, confirmed by laboratory tests. The report emphasized the importance of recognizing comorbid autoimmune conditions like SLE in patients with hereditary choreiform disorders and highlighted the need for better understanding and management of these comorbidities. This was the first reported case of HD associated with SLE from Baluchistan, Pakistan.
