An Herbal Shampoo Formulation, Along with Marketed Product (Clinic Plus) Assessment and Comparison
TLDR The herbal shampoo is a safer and effective alternative to the commercial product.
This research focused on formulating and evaluating an herbal shampoo and comparing it with the widely used commercial product, Clinic Plus. The study highlights the growing consumer preference for natural ingredients due to concerns about the negative impacts of synthetic components in shampoos. The herbal shampoo was made using natural ingredients like hibiscus, henna, neem, shikakai, reetha, aloe vera, lemon, and orange peel, while the chemical shampoo included distilled water, sodium chloride, and sodium lauryl sulphate. Various tests, including wet duration, foam stability, pH, skin sensitization, surface tension, detergency, soil dispersion, and antimicrobial activity, were conducted to assess the physicochemical properties of both shampoos. The study aimed to determine the efficacy, safety, and potential of replacing harmful substances with natural alternatives in shampoo formulations.
