The study reveals that academic work in hair transplantation is concentrated in dermatology and surgery, with significant growth in cell biology, experimental medicine, and immunology. The most cited countries are the USA, Japan, China, and the UK, with top journals including Dermatologic Surgery and Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology. The analysis highlights the need for more specific, interdisciplinary research and clinical studies to enhance the field, suggesting that future research should focus on new technological developments to improve service quality standards in hair transplantation tourism.
