TLDR Telogen effluvium causes temporary hair loss, but new hair still grows.
Telogen effluvium (TE) was identified as the second most common type of hair loss by dermatologists. It occurred when there was a change in the number of hair growth cycles, leading to temporary hair loss due to excessive shedding of resting or telogen hair following a systemic shock. Despite the hair loss, new hair continued to grow.
