TLDR Straight-lined hairlines are most common among Etche people.
This study examined hairline patterns among 227 Etche people in Rivers State, Nigeria, revealing that the most common hairline type was straight-lined (34.4%), followed by bell-shaped (30.8%) and widow’s peak (30%). Low and high hairlines were rare, each found in only 0.4% of participants. Males had longer and wider hairlines than females, and singles had greater hairline dimensions than married individuals. No significant variation was observed in hairline characteristics by religious affiliation. The study provides valuable anthropometric data on the Etche population, emphasizing the influence of genetic and environmental factors on craniofacial features, and serves as a foundation for further studies on Nigerian ethnic groups.
