TLDR Hair vibrancy involves how hair looks and feels, helping create better hair products.
The study aimed to establish a standardized framework for assessing hair vibrancy by integrating consumer perceptions, expert evaluations, and instrumental analyses. It involved 24 participants across two age cohorts and used internal hair color formulas on grey hair. Instrumental analyses included spectrophotometry, BNT lustre measurements, and Dia-Stron MTT175 for evaluating color, shine, smoothness, and fiber alignment. Strong correlations (r = 0.86) were found between instrumental and expert assessments for color and shine. The study concluded that hair vibrancy is a multidimensional attribute involving luminosity, structural integrity, and apparent vitality, providing a robust framework for product development to meet consumer expectations.
