    Hair straightening is a common procedure that has evolved over time from the use of permanent relaxers to formaldehyde-free methods like hair Botox, which is currently popular. These modern methods improve hair manageability, increase hair strength, and reduce frizz without causing significant chemical damage, thus maintaining the hair's natural waves for a more natural look. Temporary methods such as blow drying and ironing are also used for easy hair management. The authors of this article conducted a comprehensive literature review on PubMed and consulted with hair stylists and beauty school professors to understand the basic mechanisms involved in various hair straightening methods. This knowledge can help advise patients on comprehensive hair care.
