TLDR Diabetics have lower chromium, manganese, and copper, but higher iron in their hair.
The study analyzed hair levels of trace elements in 124 subjects, including 73 diabetics and 51 controls, using catalysis polarographic methods. It found that diabetics had significantly lower levels of chromium, manganese, and copper compared to controls, with p-values of 0.0005, 0.00004, and 0.03, respectively. Conversely, iron levels were significantly higher in diabetics (p=0.04). No significant differences were observed for zinc, selenium, calcium, and magnesium. These findings were consistent with previous research.
