TLDR Melatonin makes cattle hair grow faster. Better farming methods improved Pakistan's cotton industry.
In 1990, the cotton industry in Pakistan, the country's largest industrial sector, was experiencing a loss of around 10-15% due to poor traditional practices. To combat this, the Better Cotton Standard System was introduced, encouraging farmers to adopt better cotton production principles and criteria, as well as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). This was achieved through participatory training provided to 32,493 farmers of varying sizes and their 75,476 farm workers, organized in 'Learning Groups' and medium farmer's fields.
