TLDR The method accurately measures hair growth with minimal risk and is better than other methods.
The study investigated a method for measuring linear hair growth using intradermal sulfur 35 L-cystine, followed by autoradiography, in both experimental animals and humans. This method was found to be accurate and cosmetically acceptable, with minimal radiation risk due to the small doses used. It was considered superior to other methods for measuring hair growth, as it allowed for marking hairs at intervals under various environmental conditions and drug therapies without disturbing hair growth.
