    Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is linked to gut microbiota dysbiosis, characterized by reduced microbial α-diversity and compositional shifts, which correlate with PCOS symptoms like insulin resistance and chronic inflammation. This review of 25 articles highlights the role of gut microbiome alterations in PCOS pathophysiology, suggesting that microbiota-targeted therapies could address the disorder's underlying mechanisms rather than just its symptoms.
