TLDR The nafarelin test can reliably distinguish between gonadotropin deficiency and delayed puberty in teenage boys.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of the GnRH agonist nafarelin in differentiating between gonadotropin deficiency (GnD) and constitutionally delayed puberty (CDP) in 34 teenage boys. It found that an LH response 4 hours post-administration could distinguish CDP from GnD in 95% of cases, with an incremental LH response below 4.8 IU/L being the best indicator. The nafarelin test was as effective as the sleep test, offering a reliable diagnostic tool for clinicians.
