TLDR A combination of oral cyclosporin and PUVA treatment worked well for a severe skin condition called generalized pustular psoriasis.
The document described a case where a 34-year-old female with acute generalized pustular psoriasis achieved significant improvement and remission through a combination therapy of oral cyclosporin (6 mg/kg per day) and PUVA. Initial treatments with weak topical steroids and PUVA alone were only somewhat effective, and the patient's condition included fluctuations and the development of erythroderma. However, after the introduction of oral cyclosporin, there was a dramatic improvement within one week, and the patient maintained remission for 12 months after discontinuing treatment. This case supports the efficacy of combining oral cyclosporin with PUVA for treating this condition.
