TLDR Membership in a self-help organization is linked to being better informed and having a higher education, but it doesn't clearly affect disease outcomes.
The document reported the first two cases of alopecia areata occurring during golimumab therapy. The first case involved a 56-year-old woman with seropositive rheumatoid arthritis who developed a bald patch after starting golimumab. The hair loss stopped after discontinuing the drug and treating with betamethasone and minoxidil. The authors concluded a definite causal relationship between golimumab and alopecia areata based on the temporal association of drug initiation and symptom onset, and symptom resolution upon drug discontinuation. No conflicts of interest were declared by the authors.
