TLDR Finasteride and methadone don't increase advanced liver disease risk in HCV+ male veterans.

The study recruited 571 male veterans with chronic HCV not receiving antiviral therapy at their scheduled primary care visit. The results showed that there was no significant association between the use of finasteride or methadone and the risk of advanced HCV-related liver disease. The study concluded that the use of finasteride or methadone does not increase the risk of advanced hepatic fibrosis or inflammatory activity in HCV+ male veterans.
