TLDR Lymphangiosarcoma was confirmed in cats with specific skin symptoms using a lymphatic marker.
Three cases of feline exudative dermatitis linked to lymphangiosarcoma were reported in 11-year-old and 10-year-old neutered European short hair cats. The cats exhibited symptoms of transparent liquid oozing from the groin and caudal abdomen, weight loss, and slight depression. Skin lesions included alopecia and moist dermatitis. Histopathological examination revealed poorly defined neoplasia with spindle cell proliferation and irregular vascular channels, indicative of lymphangiosarcoma. Neoplastic cells tested positive for Von Willebrand factor and LYVE-1, confirming the mixed vascular origin of the tumor. Ultrastructural analysis supported the diagnosis of lymphangiosarcoma.
