TLDR Lymphangiosarcoma was confirmed in cats with specific skin symptoms using a lymphatic marker.
The study described three cases of feline exudative dermatitis linked to lymphangiosarcoma in European short hair cats, aged 10 to 11 years. The cats exhibited symptoms such as transparent liquid oozing from the skin, alopecia, and moist dermatitis in the ventral abdomen, groin, and inner thigh. Histopathological examination of skin biopsies revealed poorly defined neoplasia with spindle cell proliferation and irregular vascular channels, indicative of lymphangiosarcoma. Neoplastic cells tested positive for Von Willebrand factor and LYVE-1, confirming the mixed vascular origin of the tumor. Ultrastructural findings supported the diagnosis of lymphangiosarcoma.
