    The paper describes a case of a 28-year-old male with facial hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) who responded positively to finasteride treatment. HS is a skin condition that can affect the face and back, and is associated with risk factors such as smoking and obesity. The patient had previously been treated with antibiotics and immunosuppressants, but showed no improvement until being treated with finasteride. The drug, which is typically used to treat androgenetic alopecia and benign prostatic hyperplasia, has been shown to be effective in treating HS lesions in some patients. The mechanism of action of the drug on the pathophysiology of the illness has yet to be clarified.
