TLDR Leg hair can be used for eyelash transplants, resulting in fuller lashes with less maintenance.
This study reported the first case of eyelash transplantation using leg hair as a donor source via follicular unit extraction, comparing it with a similar procedure using nape hair. Both patients experienced significant improvement in eyelash fullness within 3 months. However, leg hair eyelashes required less frequent trimming (every 5–6 weeks) compared to nape hair eyelashes (every 2–3 weeks) and did not need perming to maintain a natural curl. The findings suggested that using leg hair for eyelash transplantation in hirsute women could yield good cosmetic results with reduced maintenance.
