In the 1998 study on CO₂ laser-assisted hair transplantation in 20 Oriental patients with male pattern alopecia, researchers found that initial laser parameters of 36-40 W and 0.2-0.7 seconds led to poor hair growth. However, after adjusting the parameters to 55 W and 0.1-0.15 seconds, the graft survival rate increased to 80-90%. Patients reported improved natural appearance and hair density with the laser method. The study concluded that the adjusted laser parameters were appropriate for Oriental patients, though it suggested the need for further research to optimize parameters for enhanced hair survival.
