TLDR The study found that using polyamide synthetic hair for implants is generally safe and gives good results with proper medical follow-up.
In a study conducted 23 years ago, 196 patients underwent hair implantation with a highly biocompatible polyamide fiber. The results, evaluated through clinical subjective and photographic objective judgement, Hamilton scale grading, and covered area rate, showed very satisfactory improvements. Adverse events were limited to 1.02% of the cases. The study concluded that a careful medical follow-up with regular scalp check-ups can minimize complications to a very acceptable rate and the overall results of the procedure were found to be satisfying.
