TLDR Infants with scalp injuries developed a skin condition that improved with steroid creams.
The document reported on four infants born with necrotic caput succedaneum, which led to scarring alopecia accompanied by ongoing inflammation and persistent scale-crust. These lesions did not significantly improve with topical or oral antibiotics but showed a moderate response to topical corticosteroids. The findings were consistent with a diagnosis of erosive pustular dermatosis of the scalp.
