TLDR The boy's skin condition improved significantly with a specific ointment after other treatments showed only mild results.
A 5-year-old boy with systematized epidermal nevus and epidermolytic hyperkeratosis showed significant improvement after 2 months of daily application of topical calcipotriol/betamethasone dipropionate combination ointment, following only mild improvement with potent topical corticosteroids. The study suggested that this combination ointment could be a beneficial treatment for patients with extensive epidermal nevus who are not candidates for surgical intervention.
