TLDR Many women's hair growth products contain harmful ingredients, but eco-friendly options are available.
The study analyzed 58 hair growth cosmeceuticals marketed to women, finding that many contain environmentally harmful ingredients, such as phenoxyethanol and synthetic fragrances, which can harm aquatic life. Despite this, 55.2% of the products were free from such hazardous ingredients, indicating that eco-friendly alternatives are possible. The research aims to inform women about the environmental impact of their hair care choices and calls for further investigation into the long-term effects of these chemicals and the development of sustainable options.
