TLDR Electromagnetic energy from wound dressing paste can disrupt skin lipid droplets, possibly affecting cancer development.
The study investigates the effects of electromagnetic energy emitted by a Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing Paste (HCWP) on human skin lipid droplets. The HCWP, placed between two glass slides, was shown to penetrate a 1 mm glass barrier and disrupt the size and membranes of lipid droplets, as evidenced by microscopy images. This disruption could have implications for cancer genesis, as reprogramming of lipid metabolism is a hallmark of many cancers. The findings build on previous research that demonstrated similar energy emissions affecting hair follicle metabolism and suggest that further investigation into the role of such exogenous energy in cancer development is warranted.
