TLDR The treatment with Shunyou and prednisone is effective and safe for lupus nephritis.
The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of combined mycophenolate mofetil (Shunyou) and corticosteroid therapy for lupus nephritis in a multicenter open-label trial involving 27 patients. Patients received Shunyou tablets and prednisone, with dosages adjusted based on body weight and disease status. Significant improvements were observed in clinical and laboratory parameters such as SLEDAI scores, 24-hour urine protein, serum albumin, and blood urea nitrogen over the treatment period. Adverse events occurred in 7 patients (25.9%) but were mostly mild and resolved with continued treatment. The study concluded that Shunyou dispersible tablets were effective and safe for treating refractory lupus nephritis, particularly in patients intolerant to cytotoxic drugs.
