TLDR Dynamet Technology won an award for its advanced titanium technology.
In 2013, Dynamet Technology received the International Titanium Association's (ITA) Titanium Applications Development Award for its specialization in titanium powder metal (PM Ti) technology. This technology serves as a substitute for the widely used Ti-6Al-4V alloy in aerospace components. Dynamet's Ti-6Al-4V alloy product was approved by Boeing Co, leading to the development of a Boeing Materials Specification for powder metal titanium alloy, and establishing Dynamet as the sole qualified supplier for these products. Additionally, Dynamet was collaborating with medical device manufacturers to incorporate its titanium alloys and metal matrix composites into advanced orthopaedic components. The company was increasing PM production at its Burlington facility and planning further expansions.
