Evaluation of the Difference Between Non-COVID-19 Pneumonia and COVID-19 Pneumonia Nursing Care

    GÜRCAN ARSLAN
This study evaluated the nursing care differences between COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 pneumonia in 165 patients. COVID-19 pneumonia patients were generally older and more likely to have hypertension and diabetes. Dyspnea was the most common symptom in COVID-19 pneumonia, while fever was more common in non-COVID-19 cases. COVID-19 patients often had bilateral pneumonia with specific CT features and showed higher levels of LDH, CRP, PCT, AST/ALT, and D-dimer. All COVID-19 patients received antiviral drugs, and a significant portion received corticosteroids, anticoagulants, and psychological support, unlike non-COVID-19 patients. The study concluded that elevated D-dimer and procalcitonin levels could indicate the need for intensive care, and monitoring liver functions and DVT should be part of COVID-19 pneumonia nursing care.
