Comparative Effect of Datura Metel Leaf and Flower Extracts for Hair Formulations

The study on Datura metel leaf and flower extracts found that methanolic leaf extract promoted rapid hair growth in animal models, achieving full hair coverage in 13 days, while hexane flower extracts led to the longest hair regrowth (80.6%) after 30 days. Both extracts contained bioactive compounds such as alkaloids and flavonoids, with additional steroids in methanolic flower extracts and terpenoids in leaf extracts. The study concluded that combining these extracts could improve hair growth formulations without causing skin irritation.
