TLDR Dapsone improved pustular psoriasis in patients who didn't respond to other treatments and is considered a well-tolerated option.
The document from 2015 presents a case series involving 5 patients with pustular psoriasis who showed improvement with dapsone therapy, an anti-neutrophil agent, after failing multiple other treatments. Four patients were treated with oral dapsone and one with topical dapsone, with two patients able to stop using other systemic agents due to dapsone's effectiveness. Only one side effect, sleep disturbance, was reported, which led to discontinuation in one patient. Despite the potential side effects of dapsone, such as methemoglobinemia and hemolysis, which can be monitored through regular lab exams, the document concludes that dapsone is a well-tolerated and viable treatment option for pustular psoriasis, although there is a need for larger, randomized controlled trials to further assess its efficacy and safety.
