Exploration of Cosmetic Haircare Practices Among Indigenous Women of Nandurbar District

    This study investigates the traditional haircare practices of tribal women in Nandurbar District, Maharashtra, India, through ethnobotanical surveys and interviews with 58 participants. It identifies 25 plant species used in haircare, with fruits and leaves being the most common parts utilized. Infusions and pastes are the primary preparation methods. The research emphasizes the biochemical importance of these botanicals in maintaining scalp health and promoting hair growth, highlighting the ecological and cultural significance of indigenous knowledge for sustainable personal care innovation.
