TLDR A microneedle patch system was developed for quick, convenient, and efficient delivery of hair loss treatment drug, Finasteride.
The study focused on the development of a cosmeceutical drug delivery system using a microneedle patch, combining cosmetics and medicine. The researchers experimented with polymers such as CMC and pullulan, finding that systems using pullulan were optimal due to its increased adhesion, viscosity, and excellent film-type performance. The drug Finasteride, used for hair loss treatment, was applied to this system. The content evaluation showed that the content in a series of three patches was over 95%. The study concluded that the micro-patches system containing Finasteride could deliver drugs quickly, conveniently, and efficiently to hair loss patients.
