Correction of Diffuse Alopecia in Iron Deficiency Anemia
TLDR Iron supplements combined with Quilib lotion effectively treat hair loss in people with iron deficiency anemia.
The clinical study involved 60 patients with diffuse telogen alopecia (DTA) and iron deficiency anemia (IDA). It compared the effectiveness of ferrous salts alone to a combination of ferrous salts and Quilib lotion. Results showed that the combination therapy was effective in treating DTA, with Quilib lotion enhancing hair growth phase length, thickness, and new hair growth. The study concluded that Quilib lotion is well-tolerated, safe for long-term use, and can be used by pregnant and lactating mothers. Additionally, the study found that iron supplements were generally well-tolerated, with only 10 patients (6%) experiencing mild side effects, and the second group reported positive cosmetic effects from Quilib lotion without adverse events. The study supports the use of Quilib lotion in combination with iron supplements for the treatment of DTA in IDA patients.
