TLDR Key genes and pathways involved in thyroid eye disease were identified, aiding potential treatment and diagnosis.
This study used bioinformatics to construct a gene coexpression network for Thyroid Eye Disease (TED), analyzing datasets GSE105149 and GSE58331. Researchers identified 11 hub genes (e.g., ATP6V1A, PTGES3) and key transcription factors and microRNAs involved in TED. Functional enrichment analysis highlighted pathways like MAPK signaling and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis. The study also predicted 138 potential therapeutic drugs, including enzyme inhibitors and finasteride. These findings enhance the understanding of TED's molecular mechanisms and suggest new diagnostic and therapeutic targets, though further experimental validation is needed.
