TLDR The review suggests new ways to classify ejaculation problems and recommends different treatments based on the type of issue.
In 2019, a clinical review proposed a new classification system for ejaculatory dysfunction (EjD), dividing men into two groups: those unable to ejaculate and those requiring an abnormal time for ejaculation. The study found that in Japan, more men presented with an inability to ejaculate than with premature ejaculation. Pharmacotherapy was identified as the first-line treatment for EjD, with behavioral therapy added depending on the case. For some men with retrograde ejaculation and anejaculation, penile vibratory stimulation or electroejaculation was indicated. For those hoping to conceive, assisted reproductive technology was recommended. The review emphasized the importance of distinguishing between EjD and erectile dysfunction for optimal treatment.
