Distinguishing Three Classes of Androgenetic Alopecia Based on Concerns in Youth: Latent Class Analysis of a Cross-Sectional Survey

The study investigated concerns about androgenetic alopecia (AGA) among 278 Thai youth, with a mean age of 22 years. Using latent class analysis, three distinct classes of concern were identified: LC1 (58%) with the lowest concerns, LC2 (22%) with low concerns except in social situations, and LC3 (20%) with high concerns in all aspects. LC3 participants experienced higher AGA severity and poorer quality of life, and were more likely to use multiple hair styling products. The findings highlighted that greater concern about AGA was associated with more severe AGA and a negative impact on quality of life.
