    German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) is a highly valued medicinal plant with growing demand in both domestic and international markets. The plant is primarily cultivated in regions of India such as Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam. This study reviews the origin, distribution, germplasm availability, and cultivation practices of chamomile, aiming to promote its expansion in South India. The review highlights the plant's therapeutic, cosmetic, and nutritional benefits, emphasizing the importance of effective farming practices and awareness of plant-based medicine.
