TLDR Caraway essential oil can kill Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
The study investigated the antibacterial activity of caraway essential oil against Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from patients with furunculosis. The results demonstrated that caraway essential oil exhibited significant antibacterial effects against the tested strains of Staphylococcus aureus. This suggested that caraway essential oil could have potential as an alternative treatment option for infections caused by this bacterium, particularly in cases of furunculosis. However, further research would have been necessary to fully understand its efficacy and safety in clinical settings.
