Treatment for androgenetic alopecia involves switching to a nortestosterone-free O.C. or stopping O.C. use altogether. For spontaneous cases of androgenetic alopecia, gestagens with anti-androgenic effects, such as cyproterone acetate or chlormadinone acetate, are used, but the concentrations in O.C.s are insufficient for treatment, necessitating the use of specialized preparations like Androcure.
