TLDR Platelet-rich plasma treatment may safely and effectively reduce skin lesions in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
The document discusses the potential of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating inflammatory skin diseases like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. A study conducted over 53 months on 40 patients showed that PRP treatment significantly reduced the size of skin lesions. In the group of 30 patients with plaque psoriasis, the average lesion size decreased from 8.2 cm² to 0.3 cm², with 80% achieving complete remission. In the group of 10 patients with atopic dermatitis, the average lesion size decreased from 8 cm² to 0.155 cm², with 50% achieving complete remission. No adverse events were reported. The study concluded that PRP treatment was safe and effective, but further studies are needed to validate these findings.
