This case report described a rare instance of bilateral trichotillomania of the eyelashes in a 9-year-old Japanese boy, triggered by anxiety over nocturnal enuresis. Initially misdiagnosed as alopecia, the boy's condition was linked to his fear of peers discovering his enuresis during an upcoming school trip. The trichotillomania was resolved through discussions involving the boy, his family, teacher, and school counselor. The report highlighted the importance for ophthalmologists to consider anxiety-related factors in cases of eyelash loss, rather than solely attributing it to alopecia.

She has purchased various hair loss treatments including minoxidil, dutasteride, finasteride, and spironolactone, but is cautious about starting them due to potential interactions with her ADHD medication.

DHT affects hair follicles, contributing to hair loss, but the exact mechanism is unclear. Treatments like finasteride and minoxidil are used to manage hair loss, though they may have side effects and varying effectiveness.
