TLDR Baricitinib effectively improved skin and hair conditions in a patient with alopecia areata and atopic dermatitis.
Baricitinib, a Janus kinase inhibitor, has shown promise in treating coexisting alopecia areata (AA) and atopic dermatitis (AD) by targeting shared immune pathways. In a case involving a 22-year-old female with both conditions, Baricitinib led to marked clinical improvement, including complete resolution of AD-associated rashes and significant hair regrowth, ultimately resolving AA-related bald patches. This case underscores Baricitinib's potential to reduce inflammation and enhance quality of life for patients with these autoimmune disorders.
