TLDR Baricitinib treatment helps regrow eyebrow, eyelash, and scalp hair in severe alopecia areata, improving patients' emotional well-being and quality of life.
The post hoc analysis of the BRAVE-AA1 and BRAVE-AA2 trials involving 855 patients with severe alopecia areata found that a 52-week treatment with baricitinib led to significant hair regrowth. At week 52, 70% of patients treated with 4mg of baricitinib showed the greatest improvement in eyebrow and eyelash hair, while 39.0% had significant scalp hair regrowth. Even patients who did not achieve complete scalp hair regrowth experienced eyebrow and eyelash regrowth. The study also found a direct relationship between improvements in emotional distress and scalp hair regrowth, with a greater impact on quality of life for those who responded to the treatment. The study concluded that baricitinib therapy can lead to clinically meaningful regrowth in eyebrow and eyelash hair, even without complete scalp hair regrowth.

In this conversation, 4990 discussed various treatments for hair loss, including oral minoxidil, PRP, transplan, Jak inhibitors, Dutasteride, Finasteride, Olumiant, Ketoconazole, RU58841, microneedling, baricitinib, and CCCA. They recommended scalp biopsies in unclear cases of DUPA, twice weekly to twice daily shampooing for topical minoxidil users, and two sessions spaced one month apart with follow up at month three to determine the effectiveness of PRP treatment.

A 36-year-old considering a fourth hair transplant is advised to either shave his head or use a hair system due to poor results from previous transplants and late medication use. He plans to consult top surgeons and adjust his current treatments, including finasteride and minoxidil.

community What else is good. Besides the big 3.

Key treatments for hair preservation include minoxidil, finasteride/dutasteride, and microneedling, with additional options like specific shampoos, oils, biotin, zinc, tretinoin, clascoterone, and low-level laser therapy. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, reducing stress, and addressing nutrient deficiencies can also support hair health.
