TLDR Ayurvedic treatment led to significant hair regrowth in alopecia areata.
This case study explores the Ayurvedic management of alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder causing patchy hair loss, in an 18-year-old male. The patient, who did not achieve satisfactory results with conventional medicine, underwent 6 weekly sessions of Pracchana, along with the external application of Indraluptha mashi and Malathyadi kera. Remarkable hair regrowth was observed within 15 days of treatment. The study suggests that this Ayurvedic approach, involving lekhana, rakthmokshana (Pracchana), and lepana, can effectively manage alopecia areata.
