This study investigated the effects of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) on skin damage induced by ribociclib, a CDK4/6 inhibitor used in breast cancer treatment, using a rat model. The study involved 18 rats divided into three groups: ATP + Ribociclib (ATR), Ribociclib (RCB), and a healthy control (HC). Over 15 days, the RCB group exhibited significant skin damage, including dermal necrosis and hair follicle degeneration, along with increased malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and decreased antioxidant enzyme levels (SOD, CAT, tGSH). In contrast, the ATR group showed only mild degeneration, with ATP administration reducing MDA levels and mitigating the decrease in antioxidant enzymes. The findings suggested that ATP could potentially be beneficial in treating ribociclib-induced skin toxicity.
